Who We Are
Meg Letson, Co-Director / Guide

Rachel Pomerantz, Co-Director / Guide
Rachel developed a love of backpacking and wild places in high school on a month-long trip to the West. Since then, it has taken her on adventures in the lush Peruvian Andes, a volcanic preserve in Chile, and the Rocky, Smoky, and Pyrenees Mountain, putting to good use a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign. Rachel has worked as guide and naturalist, teaching outdoor skills and ecology in the Midwest, the high mountains and desert canyons, California’s coastal hills and marshes, Alabama's forests, and Costa Rican jungle. Rachel now lives in the California Bay Area, road biking, running, and hiking in the East Bay hills. She holds a Masters Degree in Cultural anthropology for social and environmental justice work from the California Institute of Integral Studies and coordinates the School Education program at the San Francisco Department of the Environment.
