Enjoy eight days of action-packed fun in the Appalachian Mountain Country of North Carolina and Georgia! Learn essential backcountry skills as you: hike the highest peak in the eastern U.S.; backpack the pristine Shining Rock Wilderness of Pisgah National Forest; slide down a natural 60 foot “Sliding Rock” waterslide; and raft the Chattooga River’s thrilling class III & IV whitewater. This breathtaking journey through the Blue Ridge Mountains offers an unforgettable wilderness experience.

Summits & Splash- North Carolina

Gain backcountry skills and get energized with 3 days of trekking. You’ll hike over Blue Ridge “balds” and across mountain streams as we backpack in Pisgah National Forest’s Shining Rock Wilderness. Cool off in the refreshing waters of Looking Glass Creek after experiencing the thrill of a 60-foot natural “Sliding Rock” waterslide. Before returning home, we spend our final night enjoying a campfire celebration under the stars.

Fiery Gizzard – Tennessee

Learn essential outdoor survival skills on a three-day backpack trip along the edge of the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. The Fiery Gizzard offers spectacular scenery and great hiking on both rugged and gentle terrain, where picturesque waterfalls meet natural swimming holes. A perfect trip for the beginner backpacker!
